Amber Brook

Field notes on walking, weather and slow mornings.

October notes

The trail above the brook is mostly mud now. I walked it anyway, early, before the fog lifted. There is a heron that has taken to standing in the same bend of the water most mornings, patient as anything.

On keeping a notebook

I write things down so the days do not blur together. A page a day, sometimes less. The point is not the writing, it is the noticing.
